ASA Entertainment, producer of the Action Sports World Tour, is proud to announce that its prestigious 2008 LG Action Sports World Championships will be held this year for the first time in Seattle, Washington. From Friday, October 31 – Sunday, November 2, the Seattle Center’s KeyArena will host the world’s elite action sports pros in Skateboarding, BMX, and Inline Skating. These men and women will gather in “Emerald City” for the first time to compete in the crown jewel of action sports competitions and determine the season-ending champion of 2008.
The LG Action Sports World Championships will offer three days of competition featuring 175 of the top action sports superstars, including a host of X Games and World Champions. These athletes will thrill fans with tricks that defy gravity, each vying for their share of the $600,000 prize purse and the esteemed title of LG Action Sports World Champion.
Only the best athletes in the industry are invited to compete for these honors, based on their event results throughout the 2008 season. The megastars already qualified for the event represent a host of countries, making this a truly international contest. They include: Bucky Lasek (USA), Ryan Sheckler (USA), Bob Burnquist (Brazil), Dave Mirra (USA), Shaun White (USA), Ryan Nyquist (USA), Jamie Bestwick (England), Pierre-Luc Gagnon (Canada), Paul Rodriguez (USA), Takeshi Yasutoko (Japan), Jake Brown (Australia), Daniel Dhers (Venezuela) and Fabiola da Silva (Brazil).
In addition to featuring the biggest names in action sports, ticket holders will also be treated to full concerts from top musical acts during each ticketed session on the Maxell music stage. The list of bands will be announced by the event’s radio partner, KNDD The End, throughout the next four weeks.
“For the last six years LG Mobile Phones has been a proud sponsor of the LG Action Sports World Championships. It’s been a uniquely effective way for us to support the action sports industry and connect our brand to millions,” said Ehtisham Rabbani, Vice President of Product Strategy & Marketing for LG Mobile Phones. “We’ve enjoyed partnering with this event as it has traveled the world and we’re thrilled to see it stopping at the world-class KeyArena this year.”
“We are really excited to bring the LG Action Sports World Championships to the Seattle fans,” said ASA CEO Rick Bratman. “Each year this event determines the best action sports athletes for that season. Not only does it offer the largest per sport prize purse in action sports, but it also has a competitive vibe that compels athletes to try their biggest tricks and push the limits of their imagination in order to stand out among the elite. Seattle is in for a real treat.”

Mandrew had a random Kris Bennett sighting in West Chester over the weekend so I decided to post this ad. It was shot by Vincent Guedes during the team’s first trip to France. This park is in Marseille and it’s so good it was in a Tony Hawk video game.
